AN ACCUSED Herefordshire man has been sent for trial after denying allegations that he harassed a police officer and sent threatening messages.
Ian Pipe appeared before magistrates in Hereford in February accused of one count of sending a letter, communication, or article conveying a threatening message, and one count of harassment without violence.

He entered not guilty pleas to both of the charges at the hearing.
The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 57-year-old is accused of having sent text messages and left voicemail messages which contained a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to a police officer in Leominster between October 12 and 31 last year.

He is also accused of pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of the same police officer, and which he knew or should have known amounted to harassment, by leaving repeated threatening voicemails and text messages on October 11, 12, 27, and 31.
The case was sent for trial and Pipe, who is of Sunningdale in Leominster, was released on unconditional bail.
He will appear before magistrates in Hereford next for trial on March 23.
