A SOLDIER has been sent for trial after denying assaulting a woman in an alleged incident in Hereford.
Paul Blackhurst appeared before magistrates in Hereford in February accused of one count of assault by beating.

The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 40-year-old is accused of having assaulted a woman by beating in an incident in Hereford on June 26 last year.

Blackhurst, who appeared before the court wearing a grey suit and black coat, entered a not guilty plea to the charge at the hearing.
The case was sent for trial and Blackhurst, of Stirling Lines in Credenhill, Herefordshire, was released on unconditional bail ahead of his next hearing.
He will appear before magistrates in Worcester for trial on June 5.
