An evidential blood test revealed that he had 20 microgrammes of controlled class A drug cocaine per litre of blood, twice the legal limit of 10 microgrammes.

Cooper, who gave the court a care of address in Hereford, was handed an £80 fine and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
