A WEATHER warning is in force for Herefordshire this morning as freezing fog descends on the county.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for fog for Herefordshire this morning.

The warning came into force at 3am and is set to remain in place until 11am.

The Met Office said patches of freezing fog are likely to become more widespread towards dawn on Wednesday.

The risk will be higher along river valleys and across eastern and southern England, with visibility falling as low as 50 to 100 metres in some areas.

Forecasters said this morning's fog will slowly thin and clear later on Wednesday morning.

What to expect

  • The Met Office said that reduced visibility due to freezing fog may lead to some travel disruption
  • Slower journey times with delays to bus and train services possible
  • There is a chance of delays or cancellations to flights
