EMERGENCY crews were called to a crash on a busy Herefordshire main road overnight.

A fire service spokesperson said two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bromyard fire station were called to a crash involving a small vehicle on the A44 near Bromyard at 9.46pm on January 30.

"The incident involved one vehicle which was on all four wheels on the carriageway and there were no persons trapped," the spokesperson said.

"One female casualty had self-extricated from the vehicle before the arrival of the fire service and was handed over to the care of the ambulance service."

The spokesperson said the car was made safe and the incident left in the hands of the police who attended along with the ambulance service.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that one ambulance, a paramedic officer and a community first responder were sent to the scene where, on arrival, they discovered one car had been in a crash and there was one patient, a woman.

She was assessed by ambulance crews and treated for injuries not thought to be serious before being taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.

A police spokesperson said officers were called to the crash on the A44 near Bredenbury shortly after 9.30pm. 

The road was cleared at 11.40pm and no arrests were made, the spokesperson confirmed.
