THE road leading to Hereford County Hospital will be partially closed from tomorrow (Monday), Herefordshire Council has said.

Stonebow Road, will be shut in one direction from the hospital to Commercial Road from Monday (January 30) for reinforcement works, it said.

The Wye Valley NHS Trust, which runs Hereford County Hospital, said the main access road to the site would be partially closed due to National Grid to carry out works.

OTHER NEWS:

A public notice said the diversion for people trying to leave the hospital would be via the private road onto Union Walk and then back onto Commercial Street near the Merton Hotel.

The closure was also needed due to the likelihood of danger to the public while the 12-day works are taking place, the council said, with the work to the substation and cables within Stonebow Road.

OTHER NEWS:

The NHS trust said drivers will continue to be able to access the hospital along this road, but traffic leaving the site will have to do so via the Union Walk access road.

Diversion signs will be in place while the work is carried out. The road is expected to be back to full use by Wednesday, February 22.
