THE MET Office has issued a weather warning for most of Herefordshire this weekend.

Forecasters say freezing fog is expected to lead to some travel delays on Friday night and Saturday morning.

The yellow weather warning for freezing fog comes into force at 2am on Saturday morning and runs until 11am.

Forecasters say the fog is expected to develop during Friday night and will be slow to clear in places through Saturday morning.

Some fog could be quite dense with the visibility falling below 100 metres at times.

Additionally, freezing fog may lead to some untreated surfaces becoming slippery.

Western England is more likely to see freezing fog persist into late morning and in a few places into the afternoon.

The warning covers most of Herefordshire, apart from fringes near Abergavenny, as well as Worcestershire, Powys and the West Midlands.

Temperatures overnight in Hereford look set to fall to minus 2C and will only rise above freezing at midday on Saturday.

It will be a largely foggy, cloudy and dry weekend, with highs of 4C on Saturday and Sunday.
