A HEREFORDSHIRE drink-driver has been banned from the roads after getting behind the wheel while over the limit.
Joseph Llewellin entered a guilty plea to one charge of driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester in January.
The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 27-year-old defendant had been caught after getting behind the wheel of a Hyundai ix30 in Malvern, Worcestershire, while over the drink-driving limit on November 26.
An evidential breath test taken by police revealed that Llewellin had 44 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal driving limit is 35 microgrammes.

Llewellin, who is of Frost Road in Ledbury, Herefordshire, was fined £370 for the offence and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £148 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
He was offered the opportunity to complete the drink-driving rehabilitation course, which will reduce his ban by three months if successfully completed.
