THE gestures of goodwill and generosity from individuals and businesses, as expressed in last week's Hereford Times (December 22), were heart-warming.
I would add a rider to the sentiment "no one should be alone at Christmas"..."unless that person chooses to be so".
A small number of us enjoy a solitary Christmas. 'Just the TV for company' is just about right.
Kindliness, neighbourliness and respect are appreciated all year round.
But truly there was no need to pity me, cajole me to company, or disrupt your busy festive schedule with a visit to me.
When I say that "I am fine", I really am!
All best greetings to all readers.
