A STRANGLING-accused man alleged to have carried out two attacks in Herefordshire has been sent to the crown court.

Michael Brimfield appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster in November accused of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of intentional strangulation.

The court heard that the 36-year-old is accused of intentionally strangling a woman, contrary to the Serious Crime Act 2015, and assaulting her, causing her actual bodily harm, contrary to section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, in Hereford on August 13.

He is also accused of intentionally strangling the same woman and assaulting her, causing actual bodily harm, on a second occasion on November 11.

The case was sent to the crown court, and Brimfield, who is of Dabinett Avenue in Hereford was granted conditional bail and will appear before Worcester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on January 3.
