A HEREFORD drink-driver has been banned from the roads after she was caught out while over the limit.

Emily Cross entered a guilty plea to one charge of driving a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford in November.

The court heard from prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 48-year-old had been caught behind the wheel of a black Mini Cooper while over the drink-drive limit in Waggoners Way, Hereford, on October 10.

An evidential breath test carried out in custody revealed she had 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal driving limit is 35 microgrammes.

OTHER NEWS:

Cross, who is of Waggoners Way, Hereford, was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months and fined £80 for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken her guilty plea into account.

She was offered the opportunity to complete the drink-drive rehabilitation course, which will reduce her ban by three months if successfully completed.

Cross must also pay prosecution costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge.
