A STALKER has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after causing serious alarm to his victim.
Shane Jenkins admitted one count of stalking involving serious alarm or distress when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford in November.
The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 45-year-old had pursued a course of conduct with amounted to the stalking of a woman in Hereford between November 11, 2021, and March 1, 2022.

His behaviour, which involved persistently contacting her by phone and in person, had caused her serious alarm or distress and had a substantial adverse effect on her usual day-to-day activities, the court was told.
Jenkins, who is of Frederick Avenue, Hereford, was handed a two-year community order with 150 hours of unpaid work and a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting the victim or visiting her address.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £185 and a £95 victim surcharge.
