CHRISTMAS is approaching and the time to get a tree will soon be here, if not already for some, and Herefordshire has many places to buy one.

Here's a list of 10 places selling Christmas trees in Herefordshire this year:

Hereford Christmas Trees

At Hereford Christmas Trees, in Grafton Lane, Hereford, you can choose from five varieties of trees including Norway spruce, blue spruce, Nordmann Fir and Fraser fir.

Since taking over the site in November 2018, the new owners have replanted more than 2,000 new trees and pruned and treated the 10,000 they took on.

Fresh trees are cut every morning before they open at 10am, with the site open daily until 6pm between Saturday, November 26, and Friday, December 23.

Radway Bridge Garden Centre

Discover one of the county's widest selections of Hereford Christmas trees, with several varieties of real Hereford Christmas Trees, including Norway spruces, Nordmann firs, Fraser firs and noble firs.

There are also less conventional options such as white spruces, white pines, blue spruces, and lodgepole pines.

For those who prefer to avoid the hassle of needle drop, Radway Bridge has a selection of artificial Christmas trees, including pre-decorated and pre-lit trees, as well as tinsel trees.

They also offer a vast selection of Christmas lights, including LED lights, mini lights and outdoor lights, and Christmas decorations.

Oakchurch Farm Shop

Oakchurch, in Staunton on Wye, have freshly cut and locally grown Christmas trees.

It is selling classic Nordman fir, traditional Norway spruce, and luxury Noble fir.

Available in all sizes at the Oakchurch garden centre.

Open seven days a week with free parking.

The Green

The Green, in Green Lane, Bromyard, is selling Nordmann fir Christmas trees.

It offers trees between five and eight feet all with excellent needle retention.

A walk through its plantation means that people can select their own tree.

Alternatively, The Green can offer trees which will already have been cut.

Prices start at £25 and will be open every day between 9am and 4pm from December 1, through to Christmas Eve.

The Happy Xmas Trees

The Happy Xmas Trees, in Fownhope, are a family run business with a wide selection of trees to choose from this Christmas.

Any size can be delivered straight to your door or be collected from Shop at Coo Corner in Fownhope.

Dinmore Christmas Trees

Dinmore Hill Christmas Trees, in Wellington, won the best Nordmann fir category at the Christmas tree grower of the year awards.

The business has been growing Christmas trees in Herefordshire for 25 plus years.

Most of the year is spent working out in the plantations making sure the Christmas trees are in the very best shape for customers.

It has two sites.

Festive farm weekend opened for the season on November 5 and will be open every weekend from 9am to 4pm.

Dinmore Hill, from the lay-by on the A49, just at the bottom of the hill south of Queenswood Country park, will be open days a week 9am to 5pm, apart from Sunday at 10am, from Friday, November 25.

Coddington Christmas Trees

Ledbury's favourite Christmas Tree Farm is offering quality Christmas trees.

You can choose your tree while it's in the ground, or from recently cut stock and take it home, of have it delivered for a small charge.

The plantation opened to reserve trees from November 1.

Opening times for buying and collection or reserving trees from November 1 to November 25. Ring 01531 633 500 to arrange.

From November 26 to December 18, it will be open from 9am to 4pm for the purchase of trees from the plantation or from the yard.

Staff will be available to choose and cut on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but ring to check staff availability Monday to Thursday.

From December 19 to December 24 ring 01531 633 500 to confirm availability of staff and trees.

Ross Garden Store

At Ross Garden Store, in Ross-on-Wye, you can pick from a selection of trees and have them cut and delivered.

You can have them cut from sustainable managed tree plantations and top-quality stock or visit the store and choose your own.

You will also find a Christmas shop offering an array of decorations.

Open Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm, and Sunday 9am to 4.30pm.

Madley Plants

Madley Plants, in Madley, have a selection of non-drop, Nordmann fir and Norway Spruce in four different sizes to choose from with a variety of homemade festive wreaths available too.

Madley Plants only stock the Nordmanns as they have better needle retention when cut compared to Norway Spruce.

If you need a stand, they've got a selection of those, too, in different sizes and colours.

Goulding's Christmas Trees

Goulding's Christmas Trees, in Dymock, are a family run business which was started in 1989 and they have been growing and selling Christmas Trees since.

They will open from Friday, November 25, offering Nordmann fir and traditional Norway spruce trees.

They will also be selling potted trees of up to five-foot, Christmas tree stands, potatoes, wreaths and much more.

Cash or card will be accepted, and delivery is available.
