A RACIALLY abusive Hereford woman has been handed a suspended sentence after a raft of offences.

Nicola Osborne admitted 12 offences and denied two more when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford in November,

The court heard the 28-year-old had assaulted a woman by beating in Hereford on May 16, and had assaulted an emergency worker, namely a police officer acting in the course of their duties, by beating and been drunk and disorderly in Vernon Williams Close, Hereford, on September 6.

She had stolen food and alcohol worth £25 from Hereford's Sainsbury's on September 13, been drunk and disorderly at Hereford's Travelodge on September 20, and stolen two bottles of Henry Weston Cider from the Premier shop in Hereford's Cantilupe Street on September 25, and Westons Cider worth £2 from Asda in Hereford on October 2.

Osborne had also assaulted a man in Hereford, used threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Hereford, and destroyed an iPhone belonging to another person in Hereford on October 8.

She had further used racially aggravated threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour causing harassment, alarm, or distress, to another person in Hereford on October 8, and been drunk and disorderly in Hereford's Commercial Road on October 10.

Two charges of criminal damage, one of damaging an oven, carpets, and blinds belonging to another person between September 5 and 10, and one of damaging the custody floor at Hereford police station on October 10, both of which Osborne denied, were dismissed.

Osborne, who is of no fixed address, was handed a six-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, ordered to pay compensation of £50 to the assault victim, and £250 for the destroyed mobile phone.

No costs order was imposed due to her lack of means and to allow compensation to take priority.
