A TEENAGER has died in hospital after a crash on a Herefordshire main road.

Molly Stone, 19, died in the early hours of Tuesday morning, West Mercia Police said.

She was taken to hospital after a car crashed into a building on the A438 between Ledbury and Hereford on Monday.

Her family have paid tribute to her, saying: “Our darling daughter, sister, aunty and granddaughter- you’ll always be our angel, forever 19.

“Loving you changed our lives, and losing you did the same.”

Two teenagers were arrested by police after the crash in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency services were called to the A438 between the Trumpet crossroads and Ledbury after a car crashed into a derelict building beside the road at 1.55am on November 7.

OTHER NEWS:

Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic, a BASICS emergency doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car were all sent to the scene.

An ambulance service spokesperson said a 19-year-old woman was found to have suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and received advanced trauma care at the scene, with treatment continuing en-route to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Two men were also injured in the crash and were treated by ambulance staff before being taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.

Three fire engines, from Ledbury, Fownhope, and Hereford were also called to the scene, where they assisted police, using a thermal imaging camera and the service drone, to search for a potential fourth casualty.

A fire service spokesperson said one person had been "ejected" from the car in the crash, while the other two found at the scene were "walking wounded".

The road was closed between Ledbury and Trumpet until midday on Monday as emergency services remained at the scene to carry out an investigation, with drivers being diverted by staff from Herefordshire roads contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places.

West Mercia Police confirmed that two men, aged 18 and 19, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in relation to the incident.
