A POPULAR entertainment venue in a Herefordshire town is closing next month.

Clifton Bingo in Leominster, will close after eight years providing entertainment to the people of the town.

It has announced that its last day will be on Friday, October 28.

Clifton Bingo is Herefordshire's last remaining bingo hall, after Hereford’s Buzz Bingo, formerly Gala, closed in 2020 due to Covid.

It opened in July 2014, taking over from previous owners Top Ten Bingo.

The hall was named after the former Clifton cinema in Westbury Street which had entertained cinema-goers for four decades after opening in 1936.

To celebrate its time in the town, the bingo hall will be holding a closing down party called "Bingo Revolution" .

Organisers promise a night of laughing, dancing and prizes at the special night on Saturday, October 15.

A spokesperson for Clifton Bingo said: "Our last night will be October 28. We are disappointed to be closing but we intend to go out with a bang and a party."
