A COW and its calf have been rescued after getting into difficulties in a north Herefordshire river.
Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews, one each from Bromyard and Leominster, and the animal rescue team from Bromyard were called at 8.37am on September 20 to the rescue at Eaton Bridge on the river Lugg at Eaton, near Leominster.
Officers were called to assist after the animals had gone down a steep sided embankment and were unable to get back out.
