A HEREFORD head left in style after completing nearly two decades at a city school.
Doug Lowe left Trinity Primary School on the back of a motorbike after 19 years in the job.
A procession of motorbikes marked the occasion before Mr Lowe was whisked away.
Mary Schiavon, assistant headteacher, said: "It was absolutely fantastic. He had a brilliant day - it's not very often you get a headteacher going out with a roar."
One of the many presents Mr Lowe received was a ticket for him to go motorcycling in northern Spain.
"The pupils knew he loved motorbikes but they have never experienced him on one so we gave him a mortarboard to symbolise his teaching career and a motorcycle helmet to mark the beginning of his life after teaching," Ms Schiavon added.
Next term the school will be run by deputy headteacher Di Atkinson.
