A HEREFORDSHIRE good cause has won international funding for its work in the Caribbean.
A diabetic foot care programme in Tobago, provided by the Rotary Club of Ledbury, is now being expanded.
The club has been offered $50,000 from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to continue its work, while receiving praise from foot expert,Dr Karrel Bakker.
"The work is a wonderful example of how a small group of committed people can make a significant difference to the lives of people living with diabetes," he said.
Launched in Tobago in 2001 by Rotarians, the programme has reduced lower limb amputations by more than 50%.
The programme will be expanded to Trinidad, Nevis and Monserrat and the club needs to match the $50,000 (£37,000) offered by the IDF.
