INDEPENDENT petrol stations in Herefordshire are keeping prices low while supermarkets in Hereford are below average.

Sharon Collin owns Saffron’s Cross Garage, on the A417 in Bodenham, and she has made sure to keep her fuel prices at a reasonable level.

The price of unleaded is 159.9p per litre and 186.9p for diesel.

She said supermarkets have unnecessary prices, with the RAC saying independents are faster at passing on price drops to customers.

“It’s not about being greedy it should be about being realistic and sensible,” she said.
