A SPEEDING reservist has escaped a roads ban that would stop him from carrying out his duties.
Robert Brandon entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 46-year-old had been caught breaking the limit behind the wheel of a Volkswagen in a 60 miles per hour limit on the A40 at Ganarew on November 25.

Brandon, of Lansbury Road, Bryn Mawr, was fined £169 and received three penalty points. He must also pay costs of £60 and a £34 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made as, magistrates heard, Brandon works alone and needs to drive a van for his employment with Openreach. A ban would also stop him providing security at rural locations for Network Rail, and leave him unable to carry out all the duties associated with being a reservist, the court was told.
