SHOPPERS were evacuated after a woman died in a Hereford supermarket last night.

Police and paramedics were called to Hereford's Waitrose supermarket at the Old Market development at 7.23pm on August 1.

An ambulance service spokesperson said two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

"Crews arrived to find a woman in a critical condition with bystander CPR already in progress," the spokesperson said.

"Staff took over treatment and administered advanced life support to the patient, but sadly despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed deceased on scene.”

A shopper who had been at the supermarket said people were evacuated from the shop while crews worked at the scene.
