GAS main works will see three residential streets in Hereford closed over a period of six weeks.

Herefordshire Council said that Cadent would be carrying out its "gas replacement scheme works" in the five South Wye streets from Monday, August 8.

A public notice published in the Hereford Times said that the closures would be needed due to utility maintenance works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place.

Winston Road will be closed between Monday, August 8 and Monday, August 22 and then again from Monday, September 5 to Friday, September 16.

Holme Lacy Service Road, running parallel to Holme Lacy Road near number 105 Putson Avenue, will then be closed from Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 26.

The stretch between numbers 46 and 104 will then be closed between Monday, August 22 and Friday, September 16.

Chestnut Drive will then be closed from Monday, August 22 to Friday, September 16.

The diversion routes for each closure will be signposted locally, the council said.
