A MOTORBIKER has been killed in a crash with a bin lorry in Herefordshire, paramedics say.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to Bredenbury, near Bromyard, at 10.04am on Wednesday morning.

West Mercia Police said A44 was closed due to the crash between Bromyard and Leominster, and would likely remain closed for some time.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS emergency doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham with a paramedic and doctor on board attended the scene, an ambulance service spokesperson said.

When ambulance staff arrived, they found the motorcyclist, a man, being given CPR by an off-duty doctor and bystanders, they said.

The man was in a critical condition and ambulance staff started advanced life support on scene.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead on scene a short time later.
