HEREFORDSHIRE firefighters have been working through the night at a large wildfire in Birmingham.
A crew from Leominster fire station helped with the ongoing damping down of the fire ground from yesterday’s (June 18) large fire in Lickey Hills country park in Birmingham.
Firefighters from Leintwardine fire station were also called to the scene and helped contain the fire and damp the ground overnight before returning home early this morning.
A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester fire service said there were 12 fire engines at the scene.

Crews were called at 1.15pm yesterday to the incident which occurred in an area bordered to the south by Rose Hill, to the west by Eachway Lane and to the north and east by the B4120 and Leach Green Lane, said the spokesperson.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police have also been in attendance.
Fifteen people, including four children, had to be evacuated from three properties off Eachway Lane.
People were asked to stay away from the area and keep doors and window closed.
