A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads after he was caught in Hereford while over the limit.

Michael Wood entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard the 33-year-old had been caught driving a black Volkswagen Golf in Friars Street in Hereford while over the drink-drive limit on June 20.

An evidential breath test revealed he had 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 53.

Wood, of Eign Street, Hereford, was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 14 months. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £48 victim surcharge.
