A THIEF has been jailed after stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from Hereford's Asda supermarket.
Marius Serbanescu entered guilty pleas when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.
The court heard the 36-year-old had been caught with an article for use in the course of or in connection with theft, namely a tin foil lined bag, in Hereford on July 2.

He had also stolen 16 Nicorette Quickmist spray packets and an Ozark trail backpack worth a total of £460 from Asda in Hereford on the same date.
Serbanescu, of Rookery Road, Selly Oak, was fined a total of £400 and ordered to pay costs of £185 and a £34 victim surcharge.
He was, however, jailed for 14 days in default of payment as he had committed an imprisonable offence and was capable of paying forthwith.
