The Lancaster Bomber played a huge role in victory during the Second World War, conducting overnight raids on German territory.
In 1943, the aircraft was used as part of the Dambusters raid which was conducted by RAF bomber command.
The Möhne and Edersee dams were breached, causing catastrophic flooding of the Ruhr valley and villages in the Eder valley.
This set back Germany's efforts to produce weapons and ammunition.
19 Lancaster Bombers were used during the operation making it one of the most famous aircraft in the world along with the Spitfire.

After taking part in the event, it flew up over the South Wales Valleys to Abergavenny, and then across the border where it flew over Much Dewchurch, Rotherwas, Bartestree and Bromyard shortly before 2.30pm.
It was then seen over Bewdley, Bridgnorth, Stafford, Greater Manchester and Mansfield before landing at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.
