A SERIAL shoplifter who stole washing detergent from a Chester city centre store has been jailed.
Kyle Lewis Glover, 31, of Byron Close, Chester, was already subject to a criminal behaviour order imposed by Chest magistrates, due to his record of previous convictions.
Appearing at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 30, Glover pleaded guilty to stealing washing detergents on two occasions from Tesco in Chester, each time breaching his criminal behaviour order by placing those items into a personal bag.
He also admitted being in breach of his suspended sentence, imposed for four shoplifting offences which happened over seven days.
Magistrates activated the suspended sentence and jailed Glover for a total of 24 weeks.
The court heard Glover had stolen the washing detergent from Tesco in Chester on June 19 and June 21.
He had previously stolen £1 of ice lollies from Poundland in Chester on June 5, bottles of alcohol from Tesco in Chester on June 6, £160 of alcohol from Tesco in Chester on June 11 and £59.96 of alcohol from Aldi in Chester on June 13.
As well as the jail term, Glover was ordered to pay £50 compensation to Tesco, a £128 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
