A HEREFORD care home has recreated a wedding for two loved staff members.

Holmer Court care home’s deputy manager Evelyn Jones, and maintenance manager Richard Jones officially married two weeks ago.

But they were delighted when the home manager Claire Boulter suggested they retied the knot at the home, so all the residents could join in the celebrations.

Mrs Jones said: “We’re a close-knit community and as the residents couldn’t go to the wedding, it just felt right to bring the wedding to them and recreate the magic of the day at Holmer Court.”

Once the event was scheduled, residents helped activity coordinators Jasmine Webber James and Sarah Quarrel with the preparations to make the day possible, including the order of service.

Homemade invitations were sent to each of the 33 residents, the dining team created a special wedding buffet, and activities coordinator Jasmine baked the wedding cake.

Lead activities coordinator Becky Webber James, who led the preparations, said: “I spent a few sleepless nights making sure everything was covered for the day.”
