THE price of diesel has broken the £2 per litre barrier for the first time ever in Herefordshire as the cost of living continues to rise.

BP, in The Straight Mile, Rotherwas, has been one of the most expensive places to buy petrol and diesel in Hereford. Now its diesel price is close to hitting the £2 mark at 198.9p per litre.

But Shell, in Whitecross Road, has now increased its diesel price to 203.9p per litre for the first time. This is 12p higher than 11 days ago, when the Hereford Times last checked petrol prices.
