MY WIFE and I arrived for an appointment at the Fred Bulmer Building at Hereford County Hospital to find to our surprise and annoyance that the parking meter would only accept coins and we only had notes.
Our reaction was that this is the 21st century and when we are paying over the odds for hospital parking why should we not at least have proper modern machines provided?

The good part of the story is that our anger was assuaged by a very kind lady who gave us the £3.50 one-hour charge.
This letter is a protest against the PFI system that has allowed piratical owners to charge the earth for parking and also a public thank-you for a very kind person.
