HEREFORD FC have retained the services of midfielder Luke Haines and captain Jared Hodgkiss for the coming season.

Haines, aged 21, from Swindon, signed for the Bulls last season after a successful loan spell from Swindon Town.

Haines played 34 times for the Bulls last season scoring four times.

Hodgkiss has signed for a third season at the club after initially signing in July 2019.

The 35-year-old, from Stafford, has been Hereford captain for the past two seasons.

Last season Hodgkiss played 39 times scoring three goals.

“Luke has been a big part of everything we have built here, he’s a fans favourite and it’s a big boost that he’s staying with us,” said Hereford manager Josh Gowling to the club's website.

“I’m delighted to get Jared sorted, towards the back end of the season he was our most constant player and lead this team so well.

"He demands standards and drives the dressing room.”

Haines and Hodgkiss join Harry Pinchard, Ryan McLean and Yan Klukowski as the senior players in the Bulls squad signed so far for the 2022/23 season.

Ryan Lloyd and Miles Storey have also been offered deals for next season.
