GRATEFUL for Charlotte Moreau’s thorough report (train fire, Hereford Times, May 26), I’m writing to express my sympathies to passengers in such an awful ordeal.
Most worryingly, the replacement bus that stranded passengers were promised would arrive in an hour took five hours to arrive until after 3am.

Transport for Wales seems to blame the delay on it being a Sunday night – but shouldn’t they ensure they have backup transport on a Sunday night just as at any other time?
What if it had been pouring, with elderly travellers getting drenched? Who’s going to take TfW to task about this?
