For all those looking for things to do over this extended half term holiday, here is a list of things happening in Herefordshire over the next week.

Wye Valley River Festival

The Wye Valley River Festival makes a return to the area from May 27 to June 5.

It is full of a vibrant and innovative programme of shows spread over Herefordshire and Monmouthshire.

The fesival brinsg local people, environmentalists, and talented artists together in an internationally important landscape, for a creative exploration of what is possible.

It is held predominantly outdoors, in both rural and town locations. You are encouraged to walk between events and explore the surroundings as well as the art performances and installations.

Included in the programme is a special Jubilee event in Ross-on-Wye called 'the streets of Ross' featuring street theatre, circus and dance from 11am until 5pm on Sunday June 5.

Eastnor Steam and Vintage Weekend

Eastnor Steam and Vintage Weekend is being held at Eastnor Castle on Saturday May 28 and Sunday May 29 from 10:30am until 5:30pm

Expect a nostalgic family fun day including an impressive line up of steam engines, giant garden games, vintage cars, a vintage carousel, pony rides, live music and more.

Bromyard Speed Festival

Supercars, prestige vehicles, and motorcycles will once again fill the streets of Bromyard for the 2022 Speed Festival.

The Bromyard Speed Festival is a celebration of motoring history and traditionally welcomes in excess of 140 road and race vehicles.

Supported by static car club and owner displays plus a variety of food outlets the event always has something for everybody.

The event takes place in Bromyard on Sunday May 29.

Hereford Waterworks Museum Jubilee Steam Day

Hereford Waterworks Museum is holding a Jubilee Steam Day on Tuesday May 31.

Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian waterworks with all steam and other engines working.

There's plenty to do for all the family, with children’s activities including a frog Trail, a firefighting quiz and a story of water quiz.

Visitors can also learn about Hereford in World War Two in the Rotherwas exhibition.

Leominster Festival Family Fun Day

The Grange in Leominster is hosting a family fun day on Saturday June 4 as part of Leominster Festival's Platinum Jubileee celebrations.

The free family day will feature live music, a dog show, face painting, a bouncy castle and a traditional english tea party.

Leominster fire station will be bringing along a fire engine for kids to have a sit in, and there will be arts and crafts activities for families to enjoy.

Weir Garden half term trail

The Weir Garden in Swainshill near Hereford is inviting kids to explorewith a children’s nature trail.

Little explorers can learn all about the wildlife at the Weir Garden.

Visitors are encouraged to follow the trail points and complete the activities along the way and return to the visitor reception with a completed trail sheet to collect a prize.

Available throughout the half term holiday.
