A TEENAGER has been sent to a young offender institution after committing driving offences and attacking police officers in Herefordshire.
Kaywan Ahmed Abdulrahman, appeared before magistrates in Newport after previously entering guilty pleas.
The court heard the 18-year-old had been caught driving a black Kia Magentis on the A49 at Callow in Hereford without due care and attention on February 12.
The teenager, who had been driving without insurance or a licence, then failed to provide a breath sample to police when requested, and assaulted three police officers by beating on the same date.

Magistrates said the offences were serious as they included sustained assaults on emergency workers, due to his record, and as he poses a high risk of harm to the public and public servants.
Abdulrahman, of Woodland Road, Newport, was committed to detention for a total of 20 weeks in a young offender institution, disqualified from driving for 12 months, and must pay compensation of £100 to each of the three officers.
