  • HEREFORD fell just short of challenging league winners Gateshead falling to a 2-1 defeat.
  • Hereford started brightly against the league leaders with Tom Owen-Evans sending a searching ball over for Ryan McLean which just evaded him.
  • Miles Storey saw his effort fly just over before Owen-Evans also tested the goal but his effort dropped wide.
  • Macauley Langstaff showed his danger on 12 minutes racing onto a through ball before being denied by Wolves loanee Andreas Sondergaard.
  • A minute later Langstaff opened the scoring finding the ball inside the box before firing low past the goalkeeper.
  • Hereford had the chance for an immediate equaliser with McLean finding Owen-Evans in space who took a touch before lasing his effort wide.
  • Dan Ward was next to test the Hereford goal with his effort from outside the box forcing a fine save from Sondergaard.
