AN ENGINEER caught speeding near Herefordshire's SAS camp has escaped a roads ban because it would cause exceptional hardship to his employers and his mother.
Adam George Lockwood entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 26-year-old BMW driver had been caught speeding in a 30-miles-per-hour zone on the A480 at Credenhill on July 30.

Lockwood, of Elm Road, Credenhill, was fined £460 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £46 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made as Lockwood is an engineer who is sometimes required to make urgent trips and would not be able to be replaced by another employee, and as such it would cause exceptional hardship to his employer's business. It would also cause exceptional hardship to his mother, who relies on Lockwood to pay for her car, magistrates said.
