I READ with some interest the plaque in the lane at Mordiford, close to Garlands Farm, about Maud and the dragon.
In one of the paragraphs it mentions Haugh Woods at Woolhope, which have nothing to do with the Mordiford Dragon.
The dragon was said to live in Westwoods at Mordiford and used to come down to the confluence of the Wye and the Lugg to drink (Luggs Mouth).

Legend says it was killed by a person in a barrel who waited for the dragon to come out of Westwoods down the lane which to this day is known as Serpents Lane.
There is also a plaque further along Serpents Lane offering a reward of £100.
I would suggest that this plaque should be placed further back Serpents Lane closer to Westwoods where the dragon lived.
