HEREFORD manager Josh Gowling blasted referee Darren Rogers for losing control of the game in their 3-2 win over Bradford (Park Avenue).

The Bulls were cruising leading 3-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Luke Haines, Harry Pinchard and Ryan McLean.

However, Rogers sent McLean off early in the second half and then awarded a penalty against Hereford.

“The second half horror show,” said Gowling talking to Keith Hall.

“We came in at half-time 3-0 up and that was the most comfortable we’ve been all season. In hindsight you probably take Ryan (McLean) off but we just wanted to get a grip of the second half and then make them changes.

“But then he got sent-off after two minutes, I don’t think he was going to book him to be honest, the lads (Bradford) went up to him and he booked him.

“Once he’s done that he’s lost control of the game and he’s dished out yellows like they were smarties.

“He just didn’t get hold of the game and was giving yellows when there wasn’t any. The handball (penalty decision) Ryan (Lloyd’s) hand is behind his back and it’s hit him in the stomach and he’s given a handball and a penalty.

“You know they (the referees) are going to make them mistakes and decisions at times but it was relentless.

“To have such control of the game for him to give a red and a penalty in quick succession killed the game for us.”
