HEREFORDSHIRE is home to an array of Airbnbs, and the site has put together a wish list of some of the properties available to rent.

Herefordshire worked its way up on the list of places to go for a staycation when the pandemic stopped people going abroad.

People from across the county jumped on the opportunity and turned their fields into campsites, wood into shepherd’s huts and houses in Airbnbs.

Now there are an array of homes for holidaymakers to rent while they explore what the county has to offer.

The cottage is newly converted and offers open plan living with an abundance of high-end features across two floors, with a large private garden and hot tub.

The bedroom includes a king bed, with views overlooking the paddocks while the bathroom includes an impressive standalone bathtub.

The property is well positioned for walkers and cyclists, with a byway on the passing lane and the national trust sites of Croft Castle and Berrington Hall within a short drive.

There is an array of country pubs and restaurants close by as well as numerous distilleries, orchards, and country activities such as kayaking or hiking.

For convenience there are several supermarkets and local amenities within two miles.

Visiting food lovers can try delicacies in Ludlow while antique hunters can see what they can find in the neighbouring town of Leominster.

National Trust houses and gardens are also within easy reach it is a 40-minute drive to the festival town of Hay on Wye.

The property is a recently converted model railway station and workshop with a private drive that brings you to the secluded place in the wood.

A big skylight gives views of the canopy surrounding you with a large open plan living, and cooking area that leads to a large bedroom and also the shower room.

The Roost at Croft Cottage is a detached, self-catering, self-contained garden apartment set in the heart of the Wye Valley in the small hamlet of Hom Green, just two miles south of Ross-on-Wye.

It sleeps three with a double bedroom, a single bedroom with an additional pull-out guest bed for a fourth person.

It is set in 1.2 acres of private gardens which belong to the main house - Croft Cottage.

Croft Cottage is the home of Foxtail Gin and is geared towards welcoming and enjoying the local wildlife.

The Roost is an ideal base to explore the Wye Valley - you can go paddle boarding, watch the peregrine falcons, or enjoy a leisurely canoe on the river Wye, all from Symonds Yat which is four miles away.

For those looking for history Goodrich castle, Tintern abbey, Eastnor’s castle, Skenfrith castle, White Castle, Monmouth castle, Raglan castle all within 15 miles.

Cosy Stables

The property is situated in the country but only two and a half miles from Hereford city centre and a five minute-walk from the village gastropub in Lugwardine.

It is ideal for two people with a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and sitting room.

The barn and stables were orignially the farm buildings for Lugwardine Court.

These derelict properties were converted in 2011 to residential use.

The Stables forms one side of the courtyard with the Barn and the old walled garden forming another two sides.

The Stables with its underfloor heating and a wood burner provide a lovely fully self-contained private place to stay.

It has a large, paved area just outside with stepped access down onto the grass and garden.

There is also a bench table outside and parking is on the gravelled area by the side of the garages.

Cider House

You will see from the photographs that The Cider House is a lovely mix of the very old and very new.

The floorboards in the living room are from old Cider vats.

The huge wood burning stove and a large flat screen TV in the living room will keep you warm and amused in the evening.

There is a large flat garden at the top of the property for guest use.

The very top part is left as a wild area to encourage wildlife with chickens ready to say hello.

It was fully renovated in 2018 and 2019 to an exceptional standard, and is now a spacious but cosy two bedroom hideaway, and sits along a quiet country lane in a small hamlet in the beautiful Wye Valley, surrounded by orchards and fields, with views towards Coppett Hill from the front.

Running on 100 per cent renewable energy, The Old Hall has numerous touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

It features a large log burner and underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom, so is a fantastic escape to the country in both the summer and winter months.

The spacious open plan kitchen is modern and fully equipped and has a breakfast bar overlooking the lounge making it a wonderfully sociable space, and the bathroom, located on the ground floor, is fitted with a powerful rain head shower.
