- HEREFORD remain four points outside the play-off positions with four matches to play after a frustrating 1-0 defeat by Gloucester City
- The Bulls started brightly and Ryan McLean created a chance which fell to James Vincent whose effort was deflected wide.
- Former Hereford loanee Ollie Hulbert should have done better when a corner into a mass of bodies fell to the forward whose poor strike was straight at goalkeeper Brandon Hall.
- Hereford were limited to few chances in the opening 35 minutes with Ryan McLean and Andre Wright both seeing efforts blocked.
- A rare Bulls corner was met by Ryan Lloyd but he also saw his effort deflected wide.
- McLean had an opening moments before half-time with Luke Haines' long throw-in headed down for the midfielder who blazed his volley wide.
- The second half continued with neither side able to make a breakthrough with Lucas Tomlinson trying his luck from range but his effort floated wide.
- The opening goal came on 71 minutes when a floated Gloucester free-kick was flicked on and Jordon Thompson was on hand to head home.
- Five minutes later Hulbert should have doubled City's lead after Hereford got caught on the break with the striker running through on goal but firing wide.
- That miss sparked Hereford into life with substitute Harry Pinchard seeing his searching ball cleared before Jared Hodgkiss shot wide from outside the box.
- With Hereford throwing men forward they were hit on the break with Hulbert crossing for Louis Hall who took a touch before seeing his effort saved.
- At the other end Gloucester remained alert to the pressure when Pinchard's free-kick fell for McLean whose effort was blocked.
