PARKING along a stretch of road in a Herefordshire town centre is set to be banned temporarily.

Roadworks mean parking will be banned on the A438 High Street in Ledbury later this month.

Herefordshire Council said that due to rural fibre installation work parking would be stopped between numbers four and 16.

The work is expected to be carried out over eight nights from April 20.

In a public notice, it said the ban would allow traffic to continue to use High Street while the work was taking place.

It added the ban would also maintain a safe working zone during the fibre internet installation.

Standard broadband is delivered over copper wire, while fibre broadband is different because it uses faster and more reliable fibre-optic cables.

Herefordshire Council's website showed the work was going to be carried out by Full Fibre Limited between 6pm and 6am.
