A DRIVER has been banned from the roads for repeat offending after he was caught in Herefordshire without insurance.

He is among the latest uninsured Herefordshire drivers up before the courts.

Simon John Hicks, 51, was proven guilty by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard Mercedes Sprinter driver Hicks had been caught driving without insurance on the A40 at Symonds Yat on April 20.

Hicks, of Platt Avenue, Sandbach, was fined £120, disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending, and received six penalty points.

He must also pay costs of £110 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Sean Lewis, 35, was proven guilty by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Lewis had been caught behind the wheel of a Peugeot 207 in Madley's Stone Street without insurance on August 18.

Lewis, of Callowside, Ewyas Harold, was fined £660 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £66 victim surcharge.

Daniel Watkin Bevan, 31, was proven guilty by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Bevan had been caught driving a Ford Transit on the A40 at Goodrich, near Ross-on-Wye, without insurance on August 22.

Bevan, of Maes y Pergwm, Neath, was fined £660 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £66 victim surcharge.
