A HUGE picture of Russian leader Vladimir Putin has been added to targets on a Herefordshire driving range.

Grove Golf and Bowl, just off the A49 near Leominster, is inviting customers to "knock some sense" into President Putin in a new intiative to raise money for the people of Ukraine.

The club has redesigned the targets on its driving range to feature the face of the Russian leader, encouraging visitors to use their golfing prowess to channel their anger and frustration at the unfolding war in Ukraine.

Ten per cent of all driving range takings will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian appeal. Any donation received will be doubled by the UK Government.

Roger Helme, who owns the centre with his family, said that he felt they had to do something to help.

He said: "Like everyone, we have been watching the news feeling helpless as the situation unfolds. We're in the 21st century, these sort of things shouldn't be happening anymore."

"It must be absolutely soul destroying for the people out there."
