Hereford Town Hall will be lit up with the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian flag from around 6pm this evening.

The move is to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine who are enduring their sixth day of attack from Russian forces.

Mayor of Hereford Coun Paul Stevens said: “The images of fellow Europeans fleeing their homeland is truly shocking.

“In a small symbol of solidarity, the front of the Town Hall building will be lit up in Yellow and Blue from this evening.

“If you can, please donate to the various aid groups that are popping up across the city and county, often set up by Ukrainians who have chosen to make our city and county their home.”
