- Referee David McNamara had a big decision to make after just eight minutes as Miles Storey stole the ball from the boot of goalkeeper Wyll Stanway with the Bulls forward brought down outside the box, but Stanway was only booked.
- Loanee Wolves goalkeeper Andreas Sondergaard was making his debut in the Bulls goal and was forced into action after 15 minutes denying Marcus Dackers' effort.
- Sondergaard was back into action on 18 minutes denying Anthony Dudley's strike tipping the ball behind.
- Declan Weeks was next to give the Bulls a warning sign seeing his effort deflected wide into the side-netting.
- The deadlock was broken on 24 minutes when Harrison Burke met Weeks' corner at the front post and headed home.
- Chester should have been further ahead with Marcus Dackers failing to find a way through with the ball at his feet six yards out.
- Storey was having success forcing his way through on goal only to be denied by goalkeeper Stanway before the forward put the rebound into the side-netting.
- The Bulls were level in first half injury-time after Maziar Kouhyar broke finding Tom Owen-Evans who passed to an open Jared Hodgkiss to tap home the equaliser.
- Sondergaard was back in action after the break denying substitute James Hardy from close range.
- At the opposite end Stanway, who was lucky to be on the pitch, came racing out to deny Ryan McLean who was unleashed by Storey.
- The game then exploded with a goal for either side within two minutes,

- With eight minutes remaining the Bulls were awarded a penalty when Hodgkiss was pushed to the floor inside the box when about to head home.
- From the penalty spot Owen-Evans made no mistake sweeping the ball home.
- With three minutes remaining the Bulls could have had a fourth goal with Storey linking up with Seb Revan on the overlap before seeing his effort saved by the goalkeeper.
