TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who died in a crash in Malvern yesterday.

The man, named locally as Kane Passey, was killed at around 1am on Thursday, February 10.

Since then, a number of tributes from friends and family have emerged, paying tribute to a much-loved local figure.

Mr Passey's friend and former neighbour Pippa Oates paid tribute to the young father, saying: "Well what can I say about Kane?

"Kane was a devoted dad who loves his children with every little piece of him, they are his pride and joy, he lived for them.

"Kane was an absolute gem of a man - He would do anything and everything for his family and friends.

"We were incredibly lucky to have Kane in our lives, he was kind, caring, loving and funny.

"Some of my favourite memories of Kane involve garden parties and pizza takeaways.

"Kane always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.

"He would knock on my door with ice creams for the kids and would pop to the shop and bring all the kids a packet of sweets back.

"Whilst I was pregnant Kane always dropped me a message before going to the shop to see if I needed anything and even when I said I was okay and didn't need anything he always brought me back orange juice and chocolate, those being my cravings.

"Kane will forever be Uncle Kane to my kids, he started as my neighbour 6 years ago and became like a brother to myself and my husband. He was a fantastic friend to us."

On the Malvern Gazette Facebook page, a sister title to the Hereford Times, more tributes came in, including from his father Steve, who wrote: "Sadly my son has gone.

"The flowers (left at the scene) are from family but they won't bring him back. Rip Kane, your family loves you."

A Facebook group has been set up in Mr Passey's memory encouraging friends to post their tributes and memories.

It can be found at "RIP Kane Passey" on Facebook.

One of Mr Passey's friends, Craig Daily, has also set up a fundraising page to help support his children.
