A ROAD on the Herefordshire border will close for four days as resurfacing work is carried out by council contractors.
Hay-on-Wye's county councillor Gareth Ratcliffe said Castle Street in the town centre would be closed from Sunday, March 20 until Wednesday, March 23.
He said the road would be fully closed, but access to the car park square would be maintained from the laundrette, with work taking place near to the chemist.

"I have received notice that Powys CC are doing essential resurfacing and repair patching on Castle street from Sunday, March 20 to March 23, 2022," Welsh Liberal Democrats councillor Gareth Ratcliffe said.
"The road will be fully closed 8am-6pm, but there will be full access to all properties.
"They will work from the junction down to the chemist. Assess to the car park square will be maintained from the laundrette."

Castle Street is one of the busier routes in the town, which lies on the border between Herefordshire and Powys.
It runs from Brecon Road to Lion Street, past the castle which is currently undergoing refurbishment.
