A CAR owner has been rapped by magistrates after letting an uninsured driver get behind the wheel.

Martin Andrew Hall was proven guilty in his absence by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard the 34-year-old had allowed an uninsured driver to drive his vehicle in Leominster's Mill Street on May 11.

Hall, of St Giles Grove, Haughton, was fined £300 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £135 and a £34 victim surcharge.
